YMMV, but from my experience — Thread is overkill for this use case.
iot_maker: Completely agree — I had the exact problem and got it working by updating the driver. Took me longer than expected that configuration option.

My guess is the problem is a driver conflict. Try restarting the container and tell us what happens.
